Good Morning Everyone!
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!
Here are the new updates:
–> Life Campus – Our Midweek Service Tonight @ 7pm in Rome
People of every age have really been enjoying the mid-week service, as well as the small group sessions (for all ages) that we have afterwards!
–> Outreach Offering to Haiti
We want to thank you all for your generous offering this past week, to reach out to the suffering people of Haiti.
We spoke to Pastor Brent (our Pastor friend from TN – who already has a church/school there in Haiti), and he gave us this report:
– All of their people have survived!
– All of their buildings are still in tact – one wall has structural damage
– They have organized themselves to be a “help center”
– They have over 400 people sleeping outside of their buildings
– A few days ago, they had already fed over 4,000 hungry people
– A few days ago, over 700 people had already given their lives to Christ!
We are so thankful to hear the eternal good that is coming, even in the midst of disaster!
100% of your offering will go directly to helping the people there, and we know that God will bless you richly for your generosity!
If you were unable to give on Sunday, or would like to make an additional donation, you can feel free to give it this week.
We will follow up with another report as soon as we receive one from Pastor Brent.
–> Special Birthday Lunch for Pastor Dan – This Sunday!
This Sunday we will be celebrating Pastor’s birthday with a special lunch directly after the service.
We have so many great cooks, and we are looking forward to sampling your favorite dish!
–> Marriage Enhancement Series – “Built to Last”
Our new marriage enhancement series will begin soon. We are giving couples a chance to sign up, so that we have an idea of how many couples we will have, and so that we can better plan for the couple’s get away that will follow the series. If you have not signed up yet, please send us a quick email, or sign up on the sign up sheet this week. We are REALLY looking forward to spending this time with the couples in our church, and know that God is going to do some amazing things during this time that we spend together!
This will be a 6 week course, and sessions will be on Thursday evenings @7pm – beginning on Feb the 4th.
–> February Convention in MD
February 16th, 17th, 18th (Tues-Thur)
Special Speakers – Tomas & Deborah Gibson
Pastor & Sister Nickles were thinking of possibly changing the format of their annual convention, however, they have decided to go ahead with the same open format this year. The services will
be Tues, Wed, & Thur evening @7pm – and Wed & Thur morning @ 10am. this year there will be no Friday morning breakfast.
As in every year, there will be rooms available at the church free of charge, however, they are on a first come first served basis. If you would like to stay at the church, please let us know as soon as
possible.
Some meals will also be provided free of charge. There is also a convenience store directly across the street, which carries several different options of fast food. There are also many different restaurants in town.
This will be the first year that they have had the Gibsons as special speakers. They have a multiethnic church & are very missions minded. Their slogan is… “We are not just a church, but a family of nations”! We look forward to hearing what God will share with us through them.
–> Praise Reports!!!
We are all continuing to praise God for the testimonies that we heard on Sunday! God is so wonderful to us!
Don’t forget Pastor Dan’s encouragement to keep a record of the good things that God has done! And… when you hear a testimony of God’s goodness, by all means, don’t keep it to yourself! Go share the good news with others! We are amazed at the stories that are already coming in, of how people shared a testimony with someone, and how it opened a door for them to minister to that person!
Also – remember to keep praying! Pray for health, pray for salvation, and pray for open doors to minister to others! Just a few of the “big needs” to remember in your prayers:
Sister Jaime’s father
Brother Mark’s father
Sister Judy’s brother
–> The Building
We have finally gotten the report from the insurance adjuster, about the damage to the back of the building, due to the water break several weeks ago. As you know, we have been praying for wisdom, about what steps to take to make the current building more usable for us. We will be sharing more of the details of what needs to be done, and the renovations will begin soon.
We would love to have any able bodied people, who are willing to put their hands into this task, to help us pull this project off!
Many have said… we are with you, just tell us what to do, we want to help, etc. This is a way that everyone can pull together and do something to help get things completed!
We are trusting God both for the resources that we need, and the help to get the job done. This is an exciting time!
We look forward to being with you, in God’s presence,
Pastors Dan & Pearl Sanborn
