What a great service last night! The worship, the message, and the time of prayer and ministry afterwards... it was all so refreshing! After we dismissed, no one wanted to leave and sat quietly in the presence of the Lord. There is a hunger for God growing, and we’re glad to be a part of it! Jesus - Immanuel - God with us
Young and in His prime of life

Day 22 - As we read Luke 22, we see the greatest gift ever given laid out before us. Jesus is speaking with His disciples, and He tells them how He’s been fervently looking forward to this Passover meal together before His suffering. Not because it’s the beginning of the end, but because it’s a fulfillment of why He came - the beginning of the beginning! He takes the bread, gives thanks for it, breaks it and gives it to His disciples, letting them know that it symbolizes His body that would be broken for them. He then takes the cup of wine, gives thanks, and tells them that it represents His blood that would be shed for their redemption. Different from every other Passover Feast, this time, Jesus said He was instituting a New Covenant. A covenant with mankind and God, signed with His own blood that would be shed. This new covenant made it possible for mankind to be made right with God, by having his sins forgiven when he repented and in faith turned to God. Every time we receive communion, we are told to do it in remembrance of the great sacrifice that Jesus made for us. As we are celebrating Christmas this year, let us truly remember that the best gift has already been given!
