Good Evening Life Church – No Service Tomorrow
We wanted to let you know that we’ve decided not to hold service tomorrow, and let you know why.
With all of the new developments around the coronavirus virus being implemented by our officials and those trying to oversee the health of our nation, we feel it is important to do our part as leaders to help protect our families, our community, and our region. Other areas of our society are also taking important steps such as – our local schools closing for a month, all city facilities with gatherings closing, all sports, parties, parades, just to name a few.
We have so many in our church family who immediately come to mind when we think of protecting others … those with new babies, those with compromised immune systems, our elderly, and to be honest … each one of you is just as important to us.
There are ALL kinds of NEWS reports out there and LOTS of opinions about what people should be doing – even in the church world! Some say … you don’t have enough faith if you don’t have a church service – or you shouldn’t make decisions based on what the government says. What we’ve decided to do is pray and seek wisdom on what WE should do.
People miss a service now and then for different reasons, and sometimes a church has to cancel service because of snow or ice. We’ve prayerfully considered this situation, and feel that you are important enough for us to take this step.
We are not being moved by fear, but we are asking God for wisdom in this. We know many of you are concerned – we all are! But let’s not allow the enemy to fill us with fear because God doesn’t give us the spirit of fear! We are people who live by faith and we trust God. We also believe that God asks us to use wisdom. There were many times in the bible when God put guidelines in place to keep sickness from spreading – and to be sure that the people were living with clean practices.
James 1:5 tells us – If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you.
James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
When asking God what to do, this scripture is the guideline we decided to go by.
Our President has asked that tomorrow be a day of prayer for our nation. We are asking that you & your family stop and take time to pray together. Pray for the healing of our nation, to dispel fear & anxiety, and for wisdom for us all!
We love you LIFE CHURCH & we love you ROME!
